How did you get into the industry?

I struggled with my weight as a teenager. I did everything we were told; ate low fat and worked out. But I just added weight and got IBS, acid reflux and PCOS. I knew there had to be a better way. I went to college for health and human performance but that was much of the same flawed information. I then decided to do my own research and over years of researching found the ketogenic lifestyle and in the process cured my IBS, acid reflux and lost the extra weight.

Any emerging industry trends?

Keto is becoming more and more about healing from chronic diseases than for weight loss. Most of my clients feel so much better eating this way and get off their medications that the weight loss is just a bonus.

Any industry opportunities or challenges?

Keto is becoming very popular. But that also means a lot of new voices coming in and not always with the best advice. Some are even recommending things that can be harmful. You can do keto poorly. That is why I make sure to get the right message out about a well formulated ketogenic diet and lifestyle.

Inspiration for the business idea, and your vision for the Business?

To help as many people as possible realize how good they can feel and become healthier through a well formulated ketogenic lifestyle.

What's next for the Business in the near future?

We are looking to expand our educational offerings for both clients and others who want to teach keto. :)

Your key initiatives for the success of the Business?

Client engagement. We have always focused on keeping it real and engaging with our clients in an authentic way. Also, stay focused and never sell out on our morals or beliefs. We have turned down many lucrative business opportunities that didn’t fit our beliefs and understanding of the science behind this lifestyle.

Your most difficult moment at the Business? (and what did you learn?)

Right now in Keto it is dealing with the bad information out there. Many things like adding fat just to add it, bullet proof coffees, carb ups are all unnecessary and even harmful to peoples results.

Ideal experience for a customer/client?

I enjoy most the client testimonies from people that follow our blog or read our books and are so inspired by their results that they send us a testimony and just want to tell us how much we have changed their lives for the better.

How do you motivate others?

Stay focused on your results and how you feel. Weight loss isn’t a straight line. Focusing on how great you feel with this lifestyle helps you stay on track, the weight loss comes with time.

Career advice to those in your industry?

Research and learn at all times. One of our greatest qualities is our continuous learning and improving of our understanding of the science and this lifestyle. We are not afraid to adjust our opinion and advise when new science or information is learned.
