Bio:

While battling food-related health issues, Founder and CEO Brooke Rewa began creating juice and almond milk in her home kitchen to help expedite her healing. Seeing and feeling immediate improvements, Brooke started sharing her creations with friends and family and received tremendous response, both for the products' taste and health benefits. Word quickly began to spread and Made With Love Wellness Co  has since grown from a local Farmer's Market staple to being offered in over  50+ premium LA cafes and shops. "From conception, MWL’s mission has been to get real food to the masses through innovation and product transparency. Offering nutrient-dense products made from 100% organic ingredients and refusing to compromise when it comes to the integrity in each bottle is MWL's promise. We hope you will see, taste, and feel the difference!"

How did you get into the industry?

I original started working in health food as a side job (and mostly for fun) while I was working in the film industry.  Health and wellness was always a big passion of mine but I had never really thought about making a career out of it.  I helped launch a superfood snack bar and learned a ton.  Then I got sick with some pretty severe digestive issues and in the end healed through juicing and taking a hard look at the ingredients in every piece of food I was eating. I saw such an amazing difference from the juice that I decided I needed to share it with as many people as possible. Juice could be the gateway to getting people to realize the impact food has on every aspect of their lives.

Any emerging industry trends?

The Real Food movement!  It's happening slowly but with more and more brands creating healthy, transparent products consumers are starting to realize they can demand more from what they're buying in stores.

Any industry opportunities or challenges?

Food is an exciting industry to be in. I think it presents a lot more challenges than some other businesses but the opportunities in this space are also growing.  

I'm most excited about the use of innovation in the food industry. For us getting real food to people is a priority and really the only way to grow that beyond our local community is through innovation.  

We are working on launching our  Barista Blend Mylk outside of LA for the first time and have used innovation to figure out how to get a real, raw and unprocessed product to our cafe customers in other cities.

We are also working with this really great company called Juice Bot to get fresh raw juice in vending machines throughout the city and beyond.  Something that has been impossible to do without the overhead of opening new storefronts.  Really excited to give people the option to choose real food.

Inspiration for the business idea, and your vision for the Business?

My original inspiration was my own health journey and how empowered and great I felt once I made the choice to eat for my health.  

Now I'm inspired daily by this community, my team and other entrepreneurs.  I think people are starting to pay more attention to their food and this is forcing businesses to be transparent and start to think about their customer beyond the sale.  I hope that we can be a business inspiring others to make change or motivating new founders to innovate and create better businesses, especially in the food world.

What's next for the Business in the near future?

We are working hard toward our goal of getting real food to everyone.  We are launching our Barista Blend Mylk up and down the coast in the next few months and for the first time will make mylk available to customers in other states through our website.  Super exciting!

Ideal experience for a customer/client?

We want our customers to understand that we have their best interest in mind when creating a product.  We want them to feel like they have a voice in our community and are supported and loved.  The most rewarding part of any of this is getting to talk to customers one on one who have had a positive experience from one of our products.  It's literally the fuel that feeds everything we do.

How do you motivate others?

Personally, I try to lead by example. Be thoughtful, be kind and stand by what I say.

What makes me the best version of myself?

I think my passion and excitement for what we are doing has really been a lot of the fuel behind where we are today. I believe in our products and if you speak to me for even 10 seconds you will absolutely know that.  Running this business makes me the best version of myself daily. It forces me to grow, make decisions and to be clear on what I stand for.  

What are my aspirations?

Make real food a choice everyone has.  

So much goes along with this. There's a lot of education that needs to happen. So not only am I trying to create innovative products to fill this need but my team and I are also doing our best to educate people on why real food makes a difference and what real food actually is.

My Biggest Success?

This is an interesting question.  While I've had many successful (and lucky) days and moments I don't think I feel like there has been that moment of "success" yet.  I'll let you know when I do. I think it will be when my family living in upstate New York (with a higher population of cows than people) can walk into their local grocery store and purchase a product I've created.  Ideally it will be raw, fresh almond mylk!

Cabo:  if you know me, you know my love for Cabo is real.  Not necessarily the party scene but the beauty, ocean, weather and people.  Plus it's so easy to get to from LA.
