Kira Mar: Inspirational speaker, yoga & meditation teacher

My NativeAdVantage:

Bio:

Kira Mar is an inspirational speaker, yoga and meditation teacher. She has worked extensively with students suffering from back pain and her understanding of anatomy is apparent in her teachings. Her Meditation Means Business programs for corporations is very successful in creating a mindful approach to business that promotes disruption, thinking outside the box, and creates a heightened sense of awareness that elevates productivity. Kira is also an entrepreneur. Kira’s Bliss essential oil blends are widely sold on line as well as in yoga studios and spas. Kira is at heart an entrepreneur and her Global Language Lab offers students in elementary schools an opportunity to start learning a foreign language from as early Kindergarten. She has been featured in Chicago Tribune and Illumine Magazine.

What do I do best?

I am really good at connecting life philosophy, anatomy and energy. We go through life emotionally, anatomically and psychologically. Sometimes we get lost, and need a little guidance back to our path. Sometimes we get injured, we have pain, because we have become a little too unconscious about certain parts of our bodies, certain parts of our lives. Bridging the emotional with the anatomical to provide the body and mind with space and lightness, so we are free to go and do these amazing things we do every day, is what I love to do.

However, my best is always changing and evolving. One thing I do know for sure is that my best is closely related to my interests in life. Whether my interests are work related or life related, they have to be meaningful to me. Often times I find that life and work permeate each other and making connections between the two is extremely rewarding to me.

What makes me the best version of myself?

When I don’t judge myself, when I can sit with fear and try not to let the unknown overshadow the known, is when I elevate. It is then I begin to open my mind to possibilities rather than expectations. Daily meditations give me the baseline, a place to come back to, so I can excel in all areas of my life. I do gravitate towards positivity and lightness since those are qualities combined with creativity that provides for solutions.

What are my aspirations?

To connect my passions: Inspirational speaking, yoga, meditation, essential oils, anatomy and energy work, and education – to make a difference in peoples lives. To take what I know about these areas and infuse them with business, with running a business, with excelling in whatever it is you do, to create a meaningful and authentic life.

My Biggest Success?

This is also a question in constant evolution, but at the moment I am very exited about bringing inspirational talks and mindful meditation to corporations to help business people stay present and focused, while expanding their capacity for thinking creatively.

My Most Challenging Moment?

I have a few challenging moments that I have overcome. Not listed in any order:

A)    Becoming a US citizen. Not because the test was hard, or the paperwork difficult to gather, but because it made me ponder who I am. It made me realize that even though I identify as Danish and I sound Danish, I am actually not really Danish anymore. I see things a little differently. The life of an immigrant is lead, to some extend, as a chameleon. You have become more flexible because you have observed your surroundings through different glasses.

B)    Starting one of my companies – Global Language Lab. It took me approximately three very challenging years of learning to trust that my product was superior to other foreign language programs. I had never worked in education before, and that took some learning, adjustments and time.

C)    Overcoming my own insecurities and trusting in myself – ongoing work…

My Motto?

Just trust!

My Favorite People/Role Models?

Random people around me inspire me every day. My children - for constant love. My friends - for constant support. My love - for opening my heart. My community - for being badass.

My Favorite Places/Destinations?

Being Danish by birth lends itself to giving Denmark the top priority of places to visit. I fall in love with Denmark every time I go. Denmark has the bustle of cool city life in Copenhagen, yet you can drive 20 minutes and you are in serene landscape reminiscent of Hans Christian Andersen and Karen Blixen. It is a romantic country with strong vikings, beautiful queens and fabulous foods. In 2019 I am doing a retreat on the coast north of Copenhagen and simply cannot wait to share this country and its culture with people. We’ll spend a couple of days in Copenhagen then head to the coast for a long weekend. I cannot wait!

My Favorite Products/Objects?

My favorite products are my essential oil blends – Kira’s Bliss. I feel naked if I am not wearing them. I love the way they make me feel sensual, strong and open. There is not a day I am not stopped in stores or on the street by people commenting on the way I smell.

My Current Passions?

I am a person who enjoys more of life than life puts in front of me. I am passionate about most aspects of life, but I am actively working towards finding calm and balance. My long distance walks in nature are tremendously helpful to me.
