Vanessa Barthelmes: Founder, The Socialite Media

My NativeAdVantage:

Vanessa Barthelmes is the Founder of The Socialite Media. Follow her on Instagram @jadore.vanessa.

What do I do best?

I help people overcome obstacles and achieve the results they desire. I have always been the type of person that loves to help others, I guess I am naturally service orientated. That is how my business was born. I began helping friends grow their social media accounts and start up new businesses. After moving to the United States I thought I would take the plunge and turn my passion into a business.

What makes me the best version of myself?

That is an easy question. I have a compulsion to be productive. I find it very hard to simply do nothing unless it has a goal such as clearing my mind. My need for progression and productivity has driven me to achieve great things in my personal and professional life. It stops me from being stagnant and encourages me to keep evolving. For instance in my personal life I practice aerial arts such as trapeze, silk and lyra. I love that there is always something new to learn and progress can be made daily. In my professional life I love the speed of the Digital Marketing Industry. It is face paced ever changing and always evolving. This industry constantly quenches my thirst for knowledge and allows me to progress each and every day.

What are my aspirations?

My personal aspirations would be to have a big family. So far I have a young son Harrison. Family is the most important thing to me. Building loving relationships that last a lifetime is what truly fulfills us. Our need to belong, to love and to be loved.

My business aspirations would be to expand to 200 client accounts  this year. We are also rolling out our complete digital marketing services that include CPC, Funnel Building, Lead generation and Advertising. I have also invested in an aerial gym. In January alone we have tripled our entire membership base.

My Biggest Success?

My Most Challenging Moment?

It sounds silly but it was to invest in myself. It was scary and it meant putting myself out there. Now I wish I had done it much earlier. I think many entrepreneurs that are starting out dont value their time and are generally workaholics like me. You have to work hard to get things up and running but you need to back yourself. That means outsourcing your needs, bringing professionals that can take you further so that you can spend your time doing what you know best.

My Motto?

My personal motto is by Albert Einstein. =  Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted.

My business motto is all about helping my client. How can I help them achieve their goals? What can I give them so that their businesses can perform better. I run a completely customer centric service model. When you really help people they will stick with you for life and you both will enjoy partnering together.

My Favorite People/Role Models?

My favourite personal role model would be Ghandi and Jesus. I love how Ghandiaction great change through tragedy. He  experienced such terrible racial segregation as a young man travelling  in south africa working as a queen barrister. It was this injustice and one man's will power that literally changed so many lives and had a great impact on the world.

I learn a lot from Jesus actions everyday. I think that if we were all more forgiving and accepting of each other the world would be such a different place. Especially when times of trial arise I try to think what would Jesus do? Sometimes this can stop me from Re-Acting instead of Acting. This is really important because we are only responsible for our own actions not others. This can keep you in check with things get rough and humble you to surrender to him. At the end of the day I have full faith in him and I know that if he does not want something to be part of my plan it won’t be. No matter how hard I try. I never work on a Sunday no matter how high the  emails stack up and place my faith in him to provide for me.

My Favorite Places/Destinations?

Gosh I couldn’t say just one! I love the streets of paris, the ambience of the french riviera & the sunsets in Rome.

My Favorite Products/Objects?

I love my coffee, its a cheap version of a fit bit. It enables  me to put my phone on silent when I really need to go in the zone and focus on a project. It vibrates on my wrist when a call comes in so if its something urgent I don’t miss it!

Although I work in the digital world I still love  the paper world. I have my daily desk planner, to do lists, wall calendar and project stages printed. This allows me to go through what needs to be done for the day without getting sucked into the virtual abyss. Harvard studies show that goals on paper are still more likely to be achieved. I also find operating this way is great for me as I tend to work all the time. Mainly because I love it. This forces me to have boundaries which is extremely important if you want your business to be sustainable. Otherwise you will burn out.

My Current Passions

I have just taken up sewing. I never imagined making pyjama pants could be so hard lol!

My son is the light of my world and has shown me a greater love.

Circus - Lyra is my favourite. Trapeze, Silks and Slings.

Yoga has always been a big love of mine. It helps me reset my body and mind.

Igniting faith in others. Seeing how my life has changed moving back to Christ. It is something I want to be able to give to others because I know how many miracles I have experience and how my life has deeply changed for the better.
