Kerensia: Yoga Instructor, Empowerer, Speaker, Writer, Guide & Seeker

My NativeAdVantage:

Kerensia: Honesty & kindness are what she values most. From CA to Boulder, Kerensia’s new in town & excited to connect with the community. She feels most alive when she’s working, fulfilled when emphasizing the tools to take our power back. Being of service feeds her spirit. Before ever taking a class she knew she wanted to teach yoga however, yoga was just the beginning to what she offers in classes now. Through yoga she found her Self & began working with her strengths. Hungry for peace Kerensia dove all in & now embraces speaking, writing, and taking these tools wherever she can. Where awareness meets empowerment is fierce, graceful living. Yoga classes with her are accessible yet challenging. From relaxing Restorative to dynamic Vinyasa/Flow, she teaches based on the unique needs of whoever’s in the room & is committed to bringing uplifting energy to class. She managed 3 yoga studios in California, learned from brilliant teachers, & was an integral part of Monterey Bay’s wellness community. Kerensia believes that the certifications don’t always make the teacher. She happens to be highly skilled with few certifications & believes what we do should come from integrity & the heart.

What do I do best?

I stoke flames and seek answers. I self reflect, analyze, and remold like nobody’s business. I uplift others by seeing limiting beliefs then lovingly guiding them back to their power. Clarity. I remind people of why we’re fighting and what we’re fighting for. Awareness. I’m incredulously aware. Alert. Perpetually learning. I root for others like an outrageous fan.

What makes me the best version of myself?

I’m unshakably rooted in the values: kindness and honesty. I bring my heart to every class, event, & talk. All in! I care so deeply about the work I do, the work that’s all of our work, that I weep for the misery, the possibility, & the hope in the world. This stuff’s my purpose, not a day job or hobby.

What are my aspirations?

I aspire to be a part of the healing of the world. To grow and illuminate. I aspire to make a lot of money so I can take good care of my Self AND support many more in taking good care of themselves. I aspire to speak, teach, & write in large forums, spreading messages of self empowerment & awareness. I intend to use my voice, skills, & platform to serve others for as long as I’m able.

My Biggest Success?

My biggest success is getting out of my own way. Haha. Seriously though… when I was in a corporate environment, working for a cause I wasn’t passionate about & knowing nothing of yoga… believing in my Self gave me freedom. It opened doors I had previously dreamed of. Community. Connection. Doing work I believed in. Purpose. My heart jumpstarted when I trusted in my gut, heart & intuition. When I committed to exploring yoga and moved 5 hours from the life I had known with a man I loved, I woke up. It was a decision that’s snowballed into now.

My Most Challenging Moment?

The most difficult times have all been when I’ve had to face my insecurities head on during those very intense calls to do something bold. Those transforming experiences where I’m feeling ready to spiritually level up really triggers the internalized fear that’s been harboring and waiting to be addressed. And when there’s a call for greatness, there’s been a heavy fog of fear to move through.

When I was teaching yoga for awhile & realized it wasn’t the end game for me, I felt something was missing. My heart craved deeper, personal, work with people. My spirit was ready for that and I felt terrified that I’d fail. Not only was I shaken up with self doubt but I had the worry that I’d be criticized by others too.

I was too young. I didn’t have enough certifications. I wasn’t good enough, old enough, schooled enough.

My Motto?

Hmm, I’ve got 2 that come to mind:

“I’m the fucking bomb!” and “Show up in a way that you can be proud of.”

My Favorite People/Role Models?

My favorite person right now (besides myself but I’ll get to that next) is Danielle LaPorte. She says so much of what’s on my mind. I feel like she’s a dear friend. A trusted confidant and the voice in my head.

And yes, Me! I learn the most from self observation.

My Favorite Places/Destinations?

Anywhere tropical and on the beach with quiet, peaceful energy. Not a lot of tourists or bustling traffic but friendly, warm people around.

Home. Theres nothing like being in the sacred space of my canopy bed. I just moved to Boulder & continue to feel lit up by the scenery, views, clouds, & people so… Boulder! A hammock… by a river or in the redwoods… just in a hammock. And on a yoga mat of course.

My Favorite Products/Objects?

Gosh, I love me some food & health products. I’m very food motivated! Vega protein powder is a favorite along with anything hormone balancing & anti-inflammatory. Wildbrine Korean Kimchi. Ginger & turmeric. Oh my gosh, vegan lunch buffets.

A great pair of big earrings. Mountain Rose Herb Essential Oils.

Books by my bedside table. My current bedside selection: White Hot Truth by Danielle LaPorte and Millionaire Success Habits by Dean Graziosi. Anything eco friendly, reusable, & vegan. Food. Did I say that already? Chapstick. In the purse, by the bed, in the car, & in the restroom. Let Thy Food Cheddar Cheese (vegan). Justin’s Maple Almond Butter. Urban Decay eyeliner. Anything from a ma n pop shop.

My Current Passions?

I’m totally serious when I say that teaching yoga & empowerment is when I’m the most fulfilled. I love talking about how we can do better. Feel better. Love better.
