Enzo Morabito: Licensed Associate Real Estate Broker, Douglas Elliman

My NativeAdVantage:

Bio:

For more than 30 years, the Hamptons’ most discerning real estate buyers, sellers, renters and investors in luxury and waterfront homes have entrusted Enzo Morabito and his award-winning approach to Hamptons real estate with their every real estate need.  Known for his exceptional negotiation skills and keen ability to close complex real estate deals, Enzo and his team have earned nearly every top honor at Douglas Elliman Real Estate, including their current status as the #1 Hamptons real estate team for six years running.

With presence on both sides of the Shinnecock Canal, the Enzo Morabito Team sells and rents homes from Remsenburg, Westhampton, Westhampton Beach , Quogue, East Quogue and Hampton Bays to Southampton, Water Mill, Bridgehampton, Sagaponack, Wainscott and East Hampton. Clients have come to rely on Enzo for his sophisticated and intelligent comprehensive marketing strategies, utilization of state-of-the-art technology, and white-glove 24/7 customer service.

What do you do best?

Networking—it’s the whole secret to this business! From sellers and buyers to brokers and community members in the Hamptons, I do everything possible to get out there and network.

What makes you the best?

I’ve always been fearless. I’m not afraid to make mistakes.

Biggest success?

I was at the forefront of developing the team concept in the Hamptons. By building talented teams in Westhampton Beach, Bridgehampton and East Hampton, I was able to seamlessly bridge the gap of buying and selling on BOTH sides of the Shinnecock Canal. The fact that we’re Douglas Elliman’s #1 Team in the Hamptons for six years running bears that out.

What are your aspirations?

Personal: Real estate is a 24/7 business and I’m wired not to know how to rest -- so my personal goal is to always remember that family comes first.

Business: To continue to be the best at what I do, and to make more money doing it.

Most challenging moment?

Everyone who watches HGTV might get the impression that real estate is a piece-of-cake. After 30+ years in the business, I can tell you it’s not easy to keep most deals together. All phases of the deal can present major problems, from negotiations to getting to the contract stage and finally to the closing table. Whenever a deal seems to be galloping along too smoothly, I look at my team and say, “It’s too easy.” And usually I’m right and the other shoe drops.

Favorite motto?

I live by two favorite mottos:

-    “Chance favors the prepared mind.” Louis Pasteur

-    “God does not play dice with the Universe.” Albert Einstein

Favorite people?

Of course my family comes first, but after them I truly admire Steve Jobs, Albert Einstein and all the clients and customers I’ve worked with over the years who have been part of my success. And I wouldn’t be where I am right now without the guidance and support of my two Douglas Elliman bosses—Howard Lorber and Dottie Herman.

Favorite places?

Besides the Hamptons, I love the beaches of the Caribbean and Mexico (Cancun, St. John and Jamaica in particular). And I love holding court and people watching at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor (by the fire in the winter and on the front porch “in season”).

Favorite products?

I’m a technology junky and couldn’t live without my IPhone and IPad. To be cutting edge in the real estate business right now, you have to invest in and know all about the technology that relates to this business.

Current passions?

Art has always been a life-long passion of mine (not many people know that I used to be a high school art teacher). I gave it up to build a real estate career, but the older I get, the more I want to pick up my paint brushes again to create large-scale watercolor paintings. I used to over analyze my paintings and now I just want to let the creativity flow without any of the baggage.
