Holli Thompson: Author, inspirational speaker & creator of Nutritional Style™

Holli Thompson is the author of Discover Your Nutritional Style, Your Seasonal Plan for a Healthy, Happy, and Delicious Life, published by Sunrise River Press, and launched September, 2014 to rave reviews, and gold winner of the IPBA (Independent Publisher’s Book Awards) Health and Fitness category for 2015.

She is a former VP for Chanel, Inc. turned creator of Nutritional Style™: a global health and nutrition blog and consulting business. Her innovative system of identifying the three types of nutritional styles; Healthy Omnivore™, Flexible Vegetarian™, and Modern Vegan™, was established to allow women (and men) to finally experience an attainable, satisfying and always health-filled lifestyle.

An inspirational speaker, and TV guest for several major networks, Thompson shares weekly on her own blog, hollithompson.com. voted one of the top 10 Blogs for Healthy Living by Healthline.org. Thompson and Nutritional Style have been profiled in MORE Magazine, Camille Styles, The Huffington Post, Kiwi Magazine, DC Modern Magazine, Washington Life Magazine and other publications and blogs. She was featured in USA Today: Age Proof Beauty magazine. Highlighted in the Reinvention national TV special on NBC, Thompson has also contributed to the StyleFX, and FOX networks. She can also be seen as a regular contributor to ABC’s Let’s Talk Live show, and CBS News, where Thompson has effectively influenced not only the audience, but the host’s outlook towards healthy living.

What do you do best?

I like to think that the work I do inspires people to live their best life. I write, I blog, I speak, and I find that I’m best live, in person, and real. Showing up helps me to reach more people in a meaningful way. And the opportunities to do that expand each time. I like to look people in the eye and connect. I have intuitive instincts about people, about what they need and how to help them figure out their “Nutritional Style”. And also about what’s holding them back.

What makes you the best?

Well, I’m not sure I’m the best, but I try on a daily basis to be the best that I can be. It’s not easy reinventing your life each day, but that’s my goal. I’m creating a life from whole cloth; my business, how I live, and I enjoy finding creative ways to share my journey to help others live in a healthy, happy and sustainable style.

What are your aspirations?

To reach more people, to empower people to step up, to face their fears, and to realize how powerful health and wellness are; how meaningful fitness is to your brain, the way your cells communicate more effectively if you exercise. How much younger you can look if you eat well, and avoid foods that age your face, your body and your mind. I want to help people realize what that feels like, to be the real you.

Biggest Success?

Getting a book deal with Sunrise River Press after More magazine featured me in an article on Reinvention. It was called from Fashionista to Health Coach, and it answered the question; how does someone go from being a VP at Chanel to a Health and Wellness coach, writer, and speaker? And why?? It guess it’s a good question!

Most Challenging Moment?

Having my husband die suddenly from a fatal heart arrhythmia the day my book launched. It was devastating, but it was also a call to life for my son and me. We had to choose that day. Do we go down, or do we rise up? We both knew what my husband would have wanted us to do. He led by example and lived an extraordinary life. He loved us dearly, and loved life just as much. We had to choose life. That day changed everything for us.

Favorite Motto?

Carpe Diem, seize the day.

Favorite People?

My son, Ormsby. He inspires me daily with his kindness, his ability to love, and his open heart.

My mother, Peggy. She somehow still knows how to bottom-line my life with a subtle or not so subtle wisdom. And make me laugh.

I’m inspired by women who live life like a boss. Those ladies that have tried to do it all, corporate or entrepreneurial, raise kids and love their husbands. And still manage to have good hair and fit bodies. I have many girlfriends like that. They amaze me.

And I’m inspired by the good guys; there are many of them out there. The gentlemen who use their brains for good, help raise balanced kids, give back to the world, and believe in love.

Favorite Places?

New York City, uptown and down. Paris. The Masai Mara. Rajasthan, India.

Favorite Products?

I use clean and healthy products on my skin, in my home, and for my pets. I love Juice Beauty CC Cream, Doterra essential oils, especially lavender for the  evening hours, and Tata Harper resurfacing mask.

Current Passions?

Running in Central Park. I’m obsessed. A friend shared that the “flow" that one reaches after running for 25+minutes is the path to enlightenment, and the goal is to be able to access that flow when not running.. I’d like to think I’m on that path. I am also obsessed with daily green juice, downtown fun spots, and new art exhibits.
