Allison Dryja: Health & Wellness Coach

My NativeAdVantage:

Bio:

I'm a Women's Wellness Coach who helps women live in a body they love without restrictive diets or painful workouts. I support my clients in returning to a pleasurable, intuitive way of eating, moving, and relating to the world by guiding them to connect with their true desires. I work 1-on-1 with women to create deep, lasting satisfaction in their lives so food becomes secondary. I received my training from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, where I studied over 100 dietary theories and discovered the magic that unfolds when we listen to our bodies and follow our hearts' longing.

What do you do best?

What I strive to do best is listen. Listen to my clients, listen to nature, listen to my body and my heart. The biggest challenge is to respond wisely to what I hear! For me, listening is a lifelong practice, and has proven to be a powerful tool in many ways.

What makes you the best?

What makes me the best version of myself as a coach is my persistence in practicing compassion. All parts of ourselves exist for life-affirming reasons, even the ones that hurt us. When we approach ourselves with compassion, negative beliefs and unwanted behaviors reveal their legitimate reasons for being. This is something I always come back to when I work with people who struggle with aspects of themselves they want to overcome, such as emotional eating, drinking, shopping, or procrastination. These habits serve important purposes that, unless fulfilled another way, will cause the habit to persist. Applying compassion is a simple yet effective way of unwinding behaviors and finding new, more self-loving approaches for meeting legitimate needs.

How will you stay the best?

I will keep finding the courage to act on what I hear when I listen to my body and my heart. So far, this method has created a life that looks far better than anything I could have invented with my mind! I trust that I will become the best version of myself, do my best work, and live my best life if I continue to strengthen the link between listening to my body and heart’s longings and acting on their behalf.

What are your aspirations: business & personal?

My biggest aspiration in life is to be in a constant state of growth, both personally and in business, however it looks. Currently, that means having a wonderfully sustaining business that allows me to travel the world, writing several books, and making a lasting positive impact on the way people feel about their bodies and lives. Although I am very motivated, I don’t hold on too tightly to my aspirations—I do not determine my success based on whether or not I meet them. I see everything in life as a learning opportunity, even when it seems like things aren’t going my way. Like this, I grow and evolve no matter what. To me, that’s success.

What fascinates you?

How incredible it is to have a body! The innate intelligence of our bodies, the way our thoughts and emotions affect our physical health, and how we can so often heal ourselves (physically and emotionally) simply through relaxing and following what feels good. I also love philosophy, science, art, and mysticism. Essentially, I am fascinated by the profound mysteries of life!

Favorite Motto?

Follow your heart.

Favorite People?

My little brother, Tom. He is a lifelong friend and model for living from the heart. I’m inspired by how he maintains his sense of humor and loving character regardless of where he is or who he’s with.

Favorite Places?

I travel a lot, and I’m currently on a beautiful island in Croatia. I just spent the past winter in Bali, and before I'd been to Bali my favorite place was Biarritz—the European surfing capital in the south of France. I’ve seen so many incredible places in the world, but nothing impresses me more than the sweet brick house where I was raised in Milton, Massachusetts, and its beautiful yard.

Favorite Products?

Good wine and good chocolate.

Current Passions?

So many things… I love music of all kinds, dancing, traveling, overcoming fears, making friends, and laughing so hard it hurts! Ultimately, I am passionate about anything that makes me feel vibrantly alive.
