Lily Rice: Founder/Designer of Lexie Sport

My NativeAdVantage:

Bio:

With an innate love of sports and fashion it was only natural that Lily Rice would progress from her studies at the world renowned Central Saint Martins to a specialism in Performance Design. Graduating to a job with Umbro as part of the Nike family, Lily found her true passion in creating women’s sportswear. Spotting a gap in the market she went on to found the award winning Lexie Sport, creating aesthetically inspired women’s sportswear that has graced supermodels, Olympic athletes and the pages of Vogue.

What’s Your NativeAdVantage:

What do you do best?

I’d say my strongest attribute is being decisive and going with my instinct. Founding a company it’s important to make decisons confidently as I went from being on a team where everything was discussed to having to rely on myself to make the right choices and usually to do so quickly!

What makes you the best?

I think to be the best you have to work with people who are better than you and to be open to learning from every experience. Starting Lexie I made lots of mistakes but I’ve learnt from them and stuck at it and I really think that helps you grow to be a better person.

How will you become the best?

Setting big goals both personally and professionally is a real push to want to achieve more and improve yourself!

What are your aspirations?

Personal: I find it really hard to separate the personal from the business as they’ve become so intertwined but I’m embarking on a new fitness adventure so I’d like to conquer that.

Business: We have some really exciting things in the pipeline that involve taking the brand to the next level, bigger collections and more stockists so I’m working really hard to make that happen!

What fascinates you?

Design is my ultimate passion, creating pieces that inspire women to workout and take part in sport.

Favorite:

Motto:

You do yours and I’ll do mine – Always focus on your own journey and stay in your own lane, it’s so easy to become distracted and down by comparing yourself to others. Easier said than done though!

People:

My husband, my daughter and my team.

Places:

I love London, the city just has such an inspiring vibe. For relaxation I go home to Cornwall, in particular I have a soft spot for my husbands hometown.

Products:

I’m just about to start using InstructorLive for workouts, I love Daisy Knights jewellery and I’m lusting after some new workout trainers but have yet to find the ones!

Passions:

Design, Sport and my family
