What do you love most about Your City?

The people. I’ve met the most inspiring, driven and happy people in Miami. The humanity and the drive present in this city is what makes it so popular on a global scale. Miami has built a reputation over decades as a tourist and cultural epicenter in America and for the world. It offers a unique lens into the past through a storied history, and more importantly, a view into what the city is aiming to be. From investments at the post secondary level across multiple fields that is strengthening an educational infrastructure that will invariably bolster the economy, to civic engagement that is working to increase quality of life, to a growing tech ecosystem that is not simply just spinning out startups, but is working hard to stay at the edge of innovation while empowering traditional industries and attracting financial investment from around the world. This comprehensive effort across society to build on the past to stand tall for the future is what excites me most about Miami. Not without its issues that face any major global city, I am most inspired by what this city is aiming to be, and the hard work that everyone is putting in, which is undoubtedly making the world pay attention to what the future holds for Miami. Plus, Rokk3r, the company for which I am Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, along with Rokk3r Fuel ExO the venture capital fund where I am General partner, are both headquartered in Miami...palm trees and beaches are just the beginning!

Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?

I make it a habit of taking my family to Ice Box on the weekends for their excellent breakfast and ambiance - “The Eggbox”, along with the lemon ricotta pancake and the guava filled French toast make this breakfast pretty much unbeatable. For brunch, it’s got to be Michael’s Genuine in the Design District with their constantly changing menu and variety of dishes.  Weekday breakfasts are usually bowls of oatmeal mixed with fruit, or a smoothie if the kids want some extra beauty sleep!

Miami’s food scene is such an important part of the city’s identity. I have many favorites for different occasions. Chef Bee at Naiyara has created an exceptional experience that’ll wow any foodie. The menu derives primarily from Chef’s native Thailand, across its various regions. But you can always detect hints from his global travels.

What are you doing at:

6:00 AM –  Getting myself ready (and a bit of meditation depending on my mood) before waking up the kids...and all hell breaking loose.

10:00 AM - Receiving updates from my executive team at Rokk3r (ROKK), and setting up for a day of meetings in my favorite spot at Rokk3r HQ in the Wynwood Arts District: the boardroom.

12:00 PM - Favorite Power Lunch spot/meal?

KYU, where the Korean fried chicken and roasted cauliflower perfectly complement any decision making.

7:00 PM - Depending on the day, I’m either with Paul Vincent at DBC Fitness in the Design District where he’s got me pushing and pulling weights, tangling with battle ropes and focusing on my movement, or I’m at OrangeTheory Fitness in the Design District for an amazing group workout

11:00 PM - Documents, documents and more documents. The kids are in bed and I’m able to focus on reviewing legal, technical and strategy documents from my executives around the world, and my team at HQ in Wynwood.

What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?

The schedule is non-stop, so I’ve got to stay hydrated not just to get through the day but also to prepare for Paul at DBC Fitness (who never goes easy). Water, the source of life. And English Breakfast tea, off-course.

Most used App/Favorite Instagram Account?

My own Instagram account. Follow me @nabylcharania. I also have to highlight “the carefree little dude” aka @ollie.the.doggiee who my nieces love more than me. I admire that they document his life.

What should everyone try at least once?

Start a company from scratch - and try and actually build and execute on it.

Where do you enjoy getting lost?

In my thoughts.
