What do you love most about Your City?

Washington, DC has always been a green city. The way my home is situated, it backs up into Rock Creek Park, a National Park of 3700 square acres. When I get home from work, I can feel the country air blowing in from the Creek. During the day, I swim with sharks on K Street. At night, I commune with foxes, deer, racoons, and coyote.

Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?

My breakfast almost every morning is a health shake, homemade the night before. I love to cook, an enthusiasm that combines creativity and nutrition. Art you can eat. As for restaurants, my favorite is the Daily Dish, our neighborhood’s Cheers. Very fine food, simply and deliciously made, and everyone there knows your name.

What are you doing at:

6:00 AM – Sleeping, if I’m lucky, but most often preparing to hike in the woods or carry weights as I walk in the neighborhood. Of course, there are many mornings when you are already listening to, “Caution, the moving sidewalk is ending,” as you get ready to board a flight.

10:00 AM - Almost always in a meeting at this time, just after I’ve concentrated some crucial time on documents for intelligences that allows me to get into the selling and strategy meetings. Most people are available at this point and energy levels are at a peak to collaborate.

12:00 PM - Favorite Power Lunch spot/meal?

Power lunches have sort of gone the way of the three-martini lunch and working at the desk over a salad or sandwich is not unusual. But lunch is a great time to treat staff, clients, and prospects. The Palm is always very good. iRicchi, with its gregarious and kind owner, Christina, is always a treat.

7:00 PM -  Usually home cooking and trying to get a break from the day, though it’s not unusual to be on a call. Feeding the cats and wildlife.

11:00 PM - In bed, if I’m lucky, following an after dinner walk in the neighborhood.

What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?

Usually none, but if there is a dinner meeting or a particularly trying day, a glass of wine, wheat beer, or, on a weekend, a Manhattan is always welcome.

Most used App/Favorite Instagram Account?

What should everyone try at least once?

Courage. It is in far too short supply in Washington.

Where do you enjoy getting lost?

In Rock Creek Park. I know I’ll always find my way home, but I have often discovered a new trail. You can see so much we otherwise miss in the rush of our lives. As the Buddhists say, ‘we are often far more enlightened when we think we are lost.’
