What do you love most about Your City?

After 20 years of city living, I left NYC for a quieter life in Northern New Jersey. My favorite aspect of this new life is "outside living”. I spend so much time in the undisturbed and private setting of my yard. On the warmer days, I sit on my front porch and watch my kids play outside and during work hours, I create a make-shift office at my patio table and enjoy the fresh air.

Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?

When I have time, I love to indulge at Cafe Luxembourg on the UWS in NYC. I usually get the huevos rancheros. They are absolutely delicious!

What are you doing at:

6:00 AM – Hopefully still sleeping for another 30 minutes!

10:00 AM - On Wednesday and Fridays I am seated on my yoga mat about to start to teach my 10am prenatal yoga class. The other weekdays, I am usually having my morning check in meeting with the manager of my yoga studio. Once a week we dedicate this time to a strategy session and the other days touch base on how different projects are progressing, or studio and student issues that may have occurred.

12:00 PM - Favorite Power Lunch spot/meal?

I don’t often sit down for lunch until 2ish since I teach a noon class or schedule podcast recordings for that time. Once I do pause for lunch, it’s pretty quick since I’m either dashing to the train home to go pick my kids up or fitting in a lunch on the fly during a pretty packed schedule. But when I can sit down and enjoy a meal- I am sucker for Indian food, especially an Indian Buffet. I am particularly fond of Sapphire around Columbus Circle.

7:00 PM - This is family time. By 7pm my kids are (hopefully) finishing off bath time and heading downstairs for their 30 min of watching TV. I like to sit on the couch with them and either read the paper or whatever book I am into at the time.

11:00 PM - Crawling into bed! After my kids are asleep, I settle in for a few more hours of work. I try to wrap things up by 10:30 and then give myself a little time to shed the day’s work and relax before shutting the light off.

What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?

It’s a tossup between coffee and wine. Both needed and at very different times of the day. Just by looking at the beverage next to me can indicate the time of day. I’m pretty routine (boring?) about my drinks. I start the morning with a glass of water and then cruise through the morning into early afternoon with both a cup of coffee and tea. By midday I am back to water or herbal tea and then around 5pm pouring a much needed and wanted glass of wine, usually red unless it is a sweltering summer evening. A glass or two sustains me through making dinner and then cleaning up. By the time I head upstairs to get my kids to sleep, I am back to water.

Most used App/Favorite Instagram Account?

I really put thought into this question and then scrolled through my Instagram account to see if I had a favorite account I always looked forward to viewing. I realized, as a birth worker and yoga teacher, I have countless accounts I enjoy seeing. I find myself getting inspired and excited by images of empowered pregnancies and births. As for the yoga accounts, I really like seeing yoga pictures where the asana looks mindful and grounded instead of purely acrobatic.

What should everyone try at least once?

A self-guided bike tour. My husband and I have done these types of trips in Ireland, France and Italy, and loved the freedom of riding from town to town. Each morning our luggage was taken to the next destination and we, with map in hand, made our way through the countryside of to our next lodging. To be riding mainly alone, on our own timing with such lush and breathtaking scenery has been some of the happiest memories of my life.

Where do you enjoy getting lost?

I absolutely love the beach. I am at my happiest either walking along the edge of the water or seated under an umbrella, watching the water and listening to the crashing waves.
