Diana De Rosa: Co-Director & Chief Press Officer/Media Coordinator + Sponsorships, EQUUS Film Festival

Diana De Rosa is a veteran equestrian photo journalist, who has traveled the world and has recorded equestrian history for over 40 years. Her story and photography have taken her to over 30 countries. An accomplished rider herself, De Rosa understands the horse world from many different angles. A language major in college, De Rosa went on to run a riding school, then was editor of an equine magazine for 13 years and eventually focused on her writing and photography.  She has over 1000 published stories and photos to her credit. De Rosa has been one of the few journalists to be credentialed to cover the past eight Olympic Games (including being on assignment for USA Today for the 1992 Olympics). She has also covered or been on staff at every World Equestrian Games, numerous Pan American Games and World Cups.  Besides being a writer and photographer, De Rosa also owns her own PR firm called Press Link.  Some of her past and present clients include the National Horse Show when it was at Madison Square Garden, Washington International Horse Show, The Manhattan Mortgage Company, DreamWorks (for the movies Dreamer and Spirit), 20th Century Fox (for Flicka),  Hampton Classic, American Hunter-Jumper Foundation, the EQUUS Film Festival and Local Talent Connect.

For ten years De Rosa co-hosted the annual Hampton Classic Horse Show for the local Hamptons’ TV Station WVVH.  She also does some radio reporting and voiceovers.  De Rosa enjoys bringing life to her many equestrian stories through her camera lens and keyboard.  For eight years until his death on October 11, 2004, she also worked with the famed Christopher Reeve. Her most recent endeavor has been combining the world of acting into her life. She is a SAG-AFTRA member. More about that can be seen at www.dianaderosa.net. She also has a column on hubpages.com/@dianaderosa. Her photography can be seen at www.dianaderosa.com.

What do you love most about Your City?

I like the fact that you can get lost in the forest or parks but yet be so close to lots of restaurants, movie theaters, stores, and NYC.

Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?

Budwig Protocol with added blueberries, sunflower seeds, cinnamon, granola and raisins. For restaurants anything that serves organic food.

What are you doing at:

This is my day at home but when I am on the road it would be completely different.

6:00 AM – Yoga, Classic Stretch, or some other form of exercise. Making my first meal of the day, a healthy green shake. Taking a shower and getting ready to head to work.

10:00 AM – Answering emails, working on photos or writing an article.

12:00 PM - Favorite Power Lunch spot/meal?

I prefer something simple, like a baked sweet potato, a salad or homemade soup. I don’t order in. I bring my organic food with me.

7:00 PM -  If I’ve finally left the office then I would probably be home listening to an audiotape and working on the items I sell on Craigslist.

11:00 PM – ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

If on the Road:

6:00 AM – Getting ready to go for an audition or acting gig or if at an EQUUS Film Festival Tour Stop then preparing for the day of interviews and Q&As.

10:00 AM – Doing a one-on-one interview or Q&A with someone or working on the story about the event I am at.

12:00 PM – Sometimes on the road it’s more like having nuts and an apple, unless there is a nearby healthy shake place where I can buy a power shake.

7:00 PM -  On the road it’s generally downloading the interviews I did for the day and posting them on social media.

11:00 PM – ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

And when on an acting gig it’s spending a lot of time in holding and then doing whatever I’m doing in the gig until the day ends. Every day for me is very different.

What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?

Generally one bigger cup of tea.

Most used App/Favorite Instagram Account?

What’s App is great, especially for international calls. I do more on facebook and twitter than on Instragram.

What should everyone try at least once?

Traveling internationally. It’s a real eye opener about other cultures.

Where do you enjoy getting lost?

Dancing – I love partner dancing: Hustle and Latin.
